Jesus reveals our Heavenly Father — His life and teachings showing God's unconditional love, mercy, and plan of salvation for all

Jesus Introduces Our Heavenly Father

Introduction

Jesus Christ came into the world according to the will of God the Father.

Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus revealed the Father through His words, works, and perfect obedience.

“No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.”
 John 1:18 (ESV)

Through Jesus Christ, people come to know the Heavenly Father.

Why Did Jesus Come?

The Bible gives many reasons why Jesus came into the world.

Jesus came to save sinners.

“The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”
 1 Timothy 1:15 (ESV)

Jesus came to seek and save the lost.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
 Luke 19:10 (ESV)

Jesus came to do the will of the Father.

“For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.”
 John 6:38 (ESV)

Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled the Father's plan of salvation.

Jesus Revealed the Father

Jesus continually pointed people to the Father.

He taught His disciples to pray:

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”
 Matthew 6:9 (ESV)

Jesus spoke the words of the Father and did the works of the Father.

“The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.”
 John 14:10 (ESV)

Those who saw Jesus saw the character and glory of the Father revealed through Him.

Jesus said:

“Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”
 John 14:9 (ESV)

The Father's Love Revealed Through Christ

The love of the Father is displayed through the gift of His Son.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
 John 3:16 (ESV)

The Father sent Jesus into the world so that sinners might receive forgiveness and eternal life.

“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.”
 1 John 4:9 (ESV)

Jesus Shows the Way to the Father

Jesus is the only way to the Father.

He declared:

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
 John 14:6 (ESV)

Through faith in Jesus Christ, believers become children of God.

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
 John 1:12 (ESV)

The Response of Believers

Because Jesus revealed the Father, believers are called to trust Him, follow Him, and obey His Word.

Jesus said:

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
 John 14:15 (ESV)

Believers are called to walk as children of God and grow in their knowledge of the Father through Jesus Christ.

Reflection

Jesus Christ came into the world to reveal the Father and to save sinners.

Believers should ask themselves:

Do I know the Father through Jesus Christ?

Am I trusting in Christ for salvation?

Am I following the teachings of Jesus?

Am I growing in my relationship with God?

The Father has made Himself known through His Son.

Conclusion

Jesus Christ came into the world according to the Father's will and revealed the Father through His life, teachings, death, and resurrection.

Through Jesus, believers come to know the Heavenly Father and receive eternal life.

“And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
 John 17:3 (ESV)

May believers continue to follow Jesus Christ and grow in the knowledge of the Heavenly Father.
